“…and in the end”

The end of 2005 brought the end of The Other Beatles on the road. After more than a decade in playing across the world, the band made the difficult decision to hang up their Beatle boots once and for all.

Their final two shows however were a fitting send-off for a band that had, more than any others, captured the essence of the original Fab Four.

In October, the band's final French show was in Hazebrouck. The Other Beatles ran through from the back of the auditorium following promoter Brian Murphy's announcement and ripped through the 2-hour, 2-costume show with the energy of a much younger band! The audience's reaction was unlike anything the boys had experienced in France and was reminiscent of the days of the old theatre tours. Following the show, the band had a Q&A session with a group of French students from the local college.

The Other Beatles returned to the UK to a string of congratulatory e-mails from French fans who had seen the band in Hazebrouck. The whole experience gave everyone a buzz of renewed enthusiasm, but the stage had already been set for the final, 'final' gig.

On November 17th 2005, The Other Beatles performed their last gig in front of thousands of people in Aylesbury town centre.

They were booked to play at the Christmas light switching on ceremony for local radio station, Mix '96. The Other Beatles played for 40 minutes in very cold conditions before TV sitcom actress, Linda Robson, switched on the lights. "We came back on to do a couple more numbers to round-off the evening" remembers Steve "and I must admit, I did have a lump in my throat when I announced, quite literally, our LAST number".

'Twist and Shout' rocked out one last time, and The Other Beatles took one last bow
.

For the record: The Other Beatles…Yes, you DID pass the audition!
